BUTTERFLIES
2008 Western Garrett County NABA Butterfly Count. July 21, 2008
In six hours we found 37 species. One species was new for the cumulative list and that was Harvester in surprising numbers. We visited Finzel Swamp, Savage River State Forest along Big Run Road, Savage River Road, and Westernport Road, Big Run State Park, Blue Lick Road, and Pea Ridge Road. We were out 10AM to 4PM when an approaching thunderstorm ended the day. There were other parties out and I will have a combined list at a later date.
